About Skylar

Dr Skylar Cantu is a freelance iPhone developer that is currently living in sunny Saint Augustine, Florida.  He began coding for the iPhone in late 2007 and already had several applications completed and done before Apple announced it was opening up the iPhone to developers.  Besides being one of the platform’s first developers, Skylar  was also one of six people whose source for applications and themes was preinstalled onto every “jailbroken,” or hacked, iPhone and iPod touch.  This source was known as The TouchRepo, and still exists (although with a different mission).  Before changing the TouchRepo, Skylar successfully managed to garner a following that downloaded 3TB/mo worth of applications and  themes!     *Egads*
Some of Skylar’s iPhone achievements include PocketTouch, an alternative music controller that taps directly into the iPhone’s built in iPod; FontSwap, the first free application that safely lets you change fonts systemwide on your iPhone (not associated with the FontSwap for iPhones running os 2.0 and higher, which was created without permission by a much less competent developer); and literally writing the book on PreferenceBundles for the iPhone.

When he isn’t making iPhone applications, Skylar can be found either enjoying life in the sun with a piña colada in hand or playing his guitar.
